OEKO-TEX® is an international association of independent textile and leather testing and research institutes. Its STANDARD 100 certification tests textile products for harmful substances, considering both legally regulated substances and, in certain cases, substances that are not yet regulated but are relevant to textile safety.
The requirements apply to every component of a certified article, not only the main fabric. Testing requirements vary with the product class and how closely the textile comes into contact with skin. Check an OEKO-TEX® label.
Why it matters
Bed and bath linen stay in direct, prolonged contact with guests. Independent testing for harmful substances adds a layer of assurance.
Importers, distributors, hotel groups and procurement teams get recognised evidence of how products are made and tested.
Recognised certificates make it easier to meet the compliance requirements of buyers in India, the Middle East and Australia & Oceania.
Organic, sustainable cotton and supply-chain certifications support responsible production from fibre to finished linen.
A certified quality management system supports the same standard across every order and repeat order.
Supply-chain certifications help trace materials and their sustainability claims through each stage of production.
